My Motivational Interviewing Lightbulb Moment
Every person is unique and has their own experiences that brought them to learning motivational interviewing. I got my first experience witnessing it in action while interning at a minimum security corrections facility and addiction treatment center. While shadowing a social worker, I saw him use MI to navigate readiness to change around substance use. Though I was only a fly on the wall, I felt electrified from the conversation and ready to take action myself. From then on, I became a forever learner of motivational interviewing.

My philosophy
Individuality
I respect and value the uniqueness of each person and therefore adapt each session to your individual needs.
Privacy and Transparency
I ensure privacy for recordings, documentation, and content in session. I offer access and transparency to progress notes for continued reflection.
Appreciation
I value each person as an individual and recognize your strengths and weaknesses in order to offer you a supportive and respectful space for growth and learning.
